The Withershadow Combine have been finished up and based properly. As with the Cankerworm There may be a revisit to pick out the fine details (rivets etc) but for the moment they are above table-top worthy. I may write
their names on the bases; Admonia, Maelvous and Tremulus incase I forget.

Admonia is the female one with the book, she gives the ability Black Arts which allows a spell to be upkept for free! In addition she can unbind enemy spells and protect the general a bit more.

Tremulis is the puppeteer, I might add four strings to his puppeting hand. In the game it allows him to have an ability that forces either an enemy or a friendly model to re-roll a dice.

Maelvous is the leader and a little stronger, while he is alive he gives them all Stealth and Shadowbourne, which allows them to use their shadowy powers to walk through terrain and even charge through it!

All three can cast a spell called Dark Fire (each!) which effectively works like the pistol wraith’s pistol with a RAT of 7. However they cannot get an aiming bonus and don’t have the crack shot ability that he does.

As I said the bonejacks and thralls weren’t totally finished – they needed a little more static flock in strategic places. However by sealing them it made sure that they were more resilient and sometimes the varnish makes the static flock look odd. So by applying some PVA in strategic blobs I added some static flock here and there. While this was drying I touched up one or two little slips on the ‘jacks that missed as the lighting is obviously better in the day [PRO TIP : You need decent light to paint decently!] I also painted the Cryxian runes for ‘ONE’ and ‘TWO’ on my nightwretches and deathrippers so that I can tell them apart subtley in game. In addition I marked the 180 degree front arcs on the ‘jacks in a small stripe of green.
After all this had dried my brother expressed an interest in Warmachine. Wishing to have some minimal experience before Ian makes my un-dead into perma-dead I totted up 2 army lists on Tabletop Commander and printed them out. I didn’t have the stats for Asphyxious but they were in the rulebook so that solved that problem! I let him set up terrain while I printed lists. I don’t have photos as it was quite a rushed game but I do think that there was quite a lot of terrain.. I am not sure how much is required.
We split the bile thralls into 2 units of 3 each and I used a combine miniature for Asphyxious.
Jim :
Iron Lich Asphyxious
3 bile thralls
nightwretch
deathripper
gorman diwolfe
Me
Deneghra
3 bile thralls
nightwretch
deathripper
pistol wraith
I kept Deneghra (she is still not assembled – so minus the arm and backpack!) back and he kept Asphyxious well concealed too. His Nightwretch wounded Deneghra by overshooting the thralls, then I took out 2 of his thralls but then the last one purged and killed my 3 and wounded Deneghra. The pistol wraith missed Gorman and got a bottle of acid to the face, rolling high Jim took him out in one hit! A spell from Asphyixous, arc noded through the Nightwretch finished her off by hardly scattering. At this stage my nighwretch got mangled and Gorman a Deathripper + focusing meant my death ripper got eaten. Still I had some questions which I needed to clarify from the game so the privateer press forums helped on that one.
I learned that its difficult to remember to finish all activation for one mini as im used to Warhammer. We also forgot about feats! The stealth skill was interesting but they can still be hit by scatter templates especially if it doesn’t scatter much.
